Higher Education

Mo Scholars Program

The Government of Tanzania recognises the importance of education in Tanzania’s development, and provides free Primary and Secondary education to all children. However, higher and specialized education courses are the first barrier for Tanzania’s youth.

MDF is working to support the Government of Tanzania in the furtherance of education through the provision of post-secondary scholarships.

Started in 2016, The Mo Scholars Program (MSP) is a higher education scholarship program that funds tertiary education for determined, underprivileged youths. The program empowers Tanzania’s youths to realize their career ambitions and dreams. Today, the Mo Scholars Program supports 100 on-going students in various areas of studies such as: Civil Engineering, Medical Doctor, Agriculture and Economics, Insurance and Risk Management, Law, Aquaculture and more.

Partnerships
The Mo Dewji Foundation builds sustainable agreements with degree-awarding institutions of higher learning in Tanzania, like the University of Dar-es-Salaam, the University of Dodoma, the Center for Foreign Relations, and others. Together we build standards for scholarship, entry requirements, and funding vehicles that attract secondary-leaving students from all over the country.
Scholarships

We award higher learning scholarships to students who pass our entry requirements and interviews. The scholarship includes tuition fees, meals and accommodation, stationary allowance, and field research expenses. The Foundation regularly stays in touch with scholarship recipients to enquire about progress, opportunities and challenges during their higher education experience.

Careers

Beyond the degree, the Foundation offers career planning advice that is a direct result of experiences from our for-profit corporate arm, MeTL. For us, learning comes with the responsibility to implement noble things in the world. We also have an alumni community that we strive to engage and involve in the recruitment, guidance and mentorship of new scholarship recipients.
